Description:

John Rowley Moffett was a journalist and writer. He was editor of the 'Otago Daily Times' from 1946, bringing the newspaper into the modern era, until his death in 1961. Moffett won a reputation as both a discerning critic and fine prose stylist.
Montague Harry Holcroft was a journalist and writer. He spent 12 years with the 'Southland Times' before resigning in 1948. In 1940 his essay, 'The Deepening Stream' was awarded first prize in the Centennial Literary Competition and further essays followed. He was awarded an OBE in 1970 for his services to literature. He died aged 91.
Alexander Hare McLintock was a teacher, university lecturer and historian.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of correspondence from Holcroft and McLintock and a copy of McLintock's 'Crown colony government in New Zealand'.
