Description:

St Barnabas Anglican Church was built in 1872. Among the features of the building are a number of fine stained glass windows. The church had a long association with Bishop Neville, whose remains are buried in the churchyard. St Barnabas is part of the Port Chalmers-Warrington Parish and held its 125th anniversary celebrations in 1997.

Scope and contents:

This collection includes baptismal registers, marriage registers, cemetery records, service registers, vestry minutes, financial records, correspondence, property records, Sunday School records, records relating to the restoration of the church (particularly its windows) and a published history of the church compiled by Rosemary S. Evans.
