St Edmund's school opened on 28 January 1949 in Macandrew Road, South Dunedin. The School was a private Catholic School operating under the auspices of the Christian Brothers. In February 1981 it was integrated into the state school system. The school closed in 1988.

Scope and contents:

This collection contains admission registers for the period 1949-1988. There are an extensive number of records relating to sports events. There are a complete run of scrapbooks covering the history of the school.The collection also includes an extensive collection of mounted class photographs, records of the School Committee, and publications from the 50th anniversary school reunion.

Partial restriction : School register and progress and achievement registers are restricted for 70 years from the date of the last entry.
