Williams was born on 11 February 1792 and was baptised on 13 April at Gosport, Hampshire, England. He entered the Navy in 1806, retiring on half pay in 1815. He was accepted by the Church Missionary Society, ordained as a priest and sailed for Sydney in 1822. read more …
