Collection of documents relating to Group Captain John Donovon, OBE, DFC (pilot).

Group Captain Donovon was born in Wanganui on 17 February 1920, and died in Lower Hutt, 9 February 1980. He served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force from 26 June 1939 to 18 February 1973. He was a member of No. 16 Squadron RNZAF (July 1942-June 1943), and later flew Mosquito aircraft with 139 Squadron Royal Air Force (Pathfinder Force). After the War he was involved in the ferrying of Mosquito aircraft to New Zealand, for the RNZAF (1946-1947).

This collection includes letters and minutes regarding talks and lectures given by Donovon on his operational experience, examinations on Mosquito aircraft, jet aircraft courses at Lutterworth UK, and suggestions for modification to Mosquito and Kittyhawk aircraft.
