Johnston family


David Johnston lived in the Nelson region from 1854, working for the Customs Department. With his two sons, William and James, he became involved in a number of mining ventures in Nelson. The Johnston family opened up a zone of copper mining in the Aniseed Valley in the 1870s. read more …
