The Macmillan Brown Library is the University of Canterbury's research collection of New Zealand and Pacific Islands materials. It is located in Te Ao Mārama: the Māori and Pacific Studies Building, on the northeast side of the campus, on Arts Road.
The Macmillan Brown Library is custodian of nearly 4 kilometers of archives and manuscripts which includes some 50,000 photographs, 100,000 architectural drawings and thousands of hours of audio visual materials. An increasing amount of the material held by the Macmillan Brown Library is in digital format.
The Macmillan Brown Library also holds a core collection of 100,000 books, pamphlets and periodicals.
