Broadsheet is so much more than all your collection of it describes. It is the most powerful tool, when shared, to make positive change in not only the life of the person it touches, but in the lives of those that are then touched in turn. It opened a whole new reality to me when, in 1987, I was in hospital giving birth prematurely as a result of domestic violence. A young nurse passed me some pages ripped from her copy of broadsheet, and as I read them, I was dumbfounded to discover that somewhere out there was an ethos that allowed me to reject my domestic slavery and utter hell, and change my life. It is notable that the nurse returned to me in a state of worry, aprehensive that if I told anyone what she had done, she could lose her job. I wish I could thank her for her bravery, and I wish broadsheet was still out there, changing women's lives for the better.
