Description:

Andrews and Beaven was founded bby William Andrews (1838-1936) and Arthur Beaven (1856-1944) when the two entered into formal partnership as manufacturing and importing engineers. It became a private company in 1906.

Ten thousand shares of one pound each and forty debentures of 250 pounds each were issued and divided equally between the two partners.

In 1880 more land was bought and extension to the building were made. By 1887 the staff had reached eighteen.

Many engineering firms closed in the 1980s, including Andrews and Beaven.

These records of Andrews and Beaven include administration, sales and marketing, manufacturing and plant operation records, as well as brochures and catalogues, engineering parts lists and drawings on paper, microfilm and microfiche.
