The Dunedin Ladies Scottish Pipe Band was formed on 17 December 1947. It became an incorporated society in 1948 and affiliated with the Otago Centre in 1950. The Band's first appearance was on 28 August 1948 at the Dominion Women's Hockey Tournament. From there they appeared at concerts, displays, field days, competitions and paraded with marching teams. As the Band had no sponsor the members were also involved in various fund-raising activities. They amalgamated with the Dunedin Ladies Highland Pipe Band in 1974.

Scope and contents:

Includes a complete set of minutes, annual reports and balance sheets, a membership roll including office bearers and competition results, 1953-1966; a photograph album and historical notes relating to the band.
