Description:

The Architectural Centre Gallery was formed in part as a reaction to proposed architectural developments in Wellington. It was recognised among architectural graduates and planners that there needed to be means of displaying and promoting modern ideas in architecture, planning and art to a wider public. Hence the formation of the Architectural Centre Gallery in 1953. It was renamed the Centre Gallery in 1960.
