Description:

A hand-written letter from Tony Fomison to Brian Muir, director of the Robert McDougall Art Gallery, concerning the exhibition 'Canterbury Confrontations', held in March 1973. For this exhibition, Christchurch artists were paired, at random, to paint each other's portraits. In this letter Fomison asks to paint Leo Bensemann.
