Photocopy of reminiscences of Mr John A. Comrie, born in Pukekohe East 1865, written 9th January 1946.

John Comrie writes about the existence of Kauri trees and kauri gum in the Pukekohe district some 1000-3000 years old. Describes recovering ancient trees from lakes on properties in the area. Some of the wood was used to build the Mauku Presbyterian Church. Also mentions the large Puriri tree forest in the Pukekohe East – Waiuku area.
