"Scale Map of Clifton and Waikopua showing Trice’s Clifton property including the first 50 acres purchased from the native chieftain, Te Moananui" indicates early local land ownership, local families, Grangers Brick Works, Maori pa sites, flax mill, and St Thomas' Church, 390mm x 290mm

"Map of Turanga Creek, Clifton" shows early local land owners, families and farm holdings, 330mm x 210mm

The Reverend Robert Hattaway was a descendant of Captain Robert Hattaway, an early settler in the Howick area, and was a long-time resident at 'Hawthorndene' in Botany Road. He researched the history of Howick for many years, publishing a history of All Saints Church in 1954, and later a series of articles in the 'Auckland-Waikato Historical Journal', some of which drew upon the above manuscript.
