Description:

This transport collection formerly belonged to Ronald Queenin and consists of photographs, model buses, timetables and objects relating to bus companies operating in the Auckland area. Ronald Queenin worked as the manager of the Auckland Stagecoach Bus Company(?) depot in Stoddard Road, Mt Roskill until his retirement.

Model buses of Auckland Stagecoach, The Passenger Transport Company Limited, The Yellow Bus Company, Suburban Buses Limited, Howick and Eastern and the North Shore Transport Company Limited are found here.

Photographs include very early examples of buses operating on Grafton Bridge, buses from the N.Z.R. Road Services company, trolley buses in operation and at depot with drivers, trams in operation, Auckland Regional Authority yellow buses.

Objects include small book “The Auckland Transport Board: Rules and Regulations for Traffic Employees; Borough of Otahuhu Driver’s Licence 1966 belonging to Ronald Queenin, New Zealand Motor Licence, 1980 and 1996 belonging to Ronald Queenin; Temporary New Zealand Drivers Licence, Ronal Queenin, 2007. Original timetables for The Passenger Transport Co., Omnibus Proprietors, Papatoetoe serving Papatoetoe, Otara, Middlemore Hospital, Otahuhu, Penrose, Ellerslie, Tamaki, Mt. Wellington, North Shore Transport Co. Ltd timetable June 1966. Stagecoach bus ticket, 2006. Ticket to social evening held by the Passenger Transport Co. Social Club, 1966. Union membership cards for the Northern Transport and Motor and Horse Drivers and their Assistants’ Industrial Union of Workers, 1962-63, 1963-64 and 1964-65. Annual passes, The Passenger Transport Co. Ltd. Annual Pass, 1965 and 1970. Pensioner’s Privilege Card, Howick and Eastern Buses Ltd.
