Clinton is a small rural town in South Otago, approximately half way between Dunedin and Invercargill.

“Overnight Stop”, Clinton: A Social Profile, by Kaye Maree Batchelor. The aim of the thesis was to examine the town of Clinton by looking at its social structure and characteristic features using data in directories, electoral rolls, rates lists and some land records. Some of the areas of study were the town’s origins and establishment, its social compositon and occupational structure, its awareness and extent of community and the towns relationship with the wider district
