Bayley, Stella (1889-1980)

Level of description:

3 boxes

Reference number:

It is thought the programmes were collected by Stella Bayley although there is only a little evidence to support this. A postcard within the collection is addressed to Stella Bayley, and an envelope containing newspaper cuttings is addressed to "Estate Frederick W Bayley". Frederick William Bayley, an accountant, was Stella's father and the family lived in Russell Street, Dunedin during the 1930s at the time many of the programmes were collected. Stella's mother, Emily, nee Shand, married Bayley in 1888. After Emily died in 1901 Stella lived with her father and her sisters Alfreda Olga Bayley, (known as Alfa) and Dorothy Lucy Bayley, 1893-1972. Alfreda married Vivian Edwin Sanders in 1927. Frederick William Bayley died in 1948. [See also ZARCH 177 Dorothy Lucy Bayley]
