Minute Book for meetings held by members of the Sturges Park Carnival Committe. Chairman Mr F.W. Grey. One of meetings lists members present including Messrs Grey, Laws, Kirkwood, Hodgson, Philip, Simpson, White, Mullin, Ander, Ohara, Conway, Rose, Bay and Thornton.
Donated by the Grey family, November 1992.

Background information
On the 22nd of March 1915 Alfred Sturges, the first Mayor of Otahuhu, presented a 14-acre plot of land to the west of the Otahuhu to its citizens as a recreational reserve. This is the origin of present-day Sturges Park. On the 27th of February 1932 Sturges Park at Otahuhu was formally re-opened after extensive redevelopment

Physical characteristics:

340mm x 230mm x 30mm, 269p. Green cloth bound boards and red leather spine and corners. Marbled end papers, blue ink. Condition, very good, slight wear on corners of cover, some pages removed from back of book, foxing.
