Embarked on the 'Surada' for Lemnos - describes naval bombardment - shells falling everywhere, 'baptism of fire' - sharpnels bursting over the boats - describes landing at Anzac Cove - landing ammunition, hauling guns uphill, digging trenches and shelters - attacks by Turks - burial parties - sinking of the 'Triumph' - his personal opinion of which branch of the service is due the greatest credit in war - his personal feeling in the way of braveness or otherwise.
