This collection consists of records from Clayton Park and Clendon Park Primary Schools, relating to the Health Promoting Schools (HPS) initiative, 1997 to 1998. Also included are HPS administration documents created during its establishment in Manukau in 1997.

A collaborative between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, Health Promoting Schools was formally introduced into New Zealand in 1997. The goal of the service is to promote school social and physical environments that improve the health and wellbeing of students and their families/communities, and contribute to improved student educational outcomes. It currently operates nationally.

The collection consists mostly of draft information, strategic plans, newsletters, minutes, needs assessments, surveys and programme information.
