Dr. Dale Hunter played a pivotal role in nurturing the development of the arts in Manukau City Council. She was interviewed by Dionne Christian on 24 February 2010.

Dale had a career as a professional, classically trained clarinetist with the Symphonia of Auckland, but began working for Manukau City Council in 1978, firstly as the Cultural Coordinator, later to become the Arts Advisor and eventually Community Development Manager. She has been actively involved in the peace movement and the women’s movement since the 70s.

She currently runs a company called Zenergy, which provides facilitation and coaching services and training to government, business and community sectors.

Several of Dr. Hunter's books are available from Auckland Libraries.
