Three personal letters, typescript poem and four photographs relating to the RNZAF service of NZ41881 Pilot Officer Ernest Wilkin Cox (known as Tony), 1941-1942.

Tony Cox was born in Christchurch on 27 November 1919 and attended Christ's College and the University College before working as a clerk at Frank Graham and Son, accountants. He joined the RNZAF on 9 February 1941. The personal letters were written between October 1941 and January 1942, en route to Singapore and during service with No. 488 Squadron operating Brewster Buffalo aircraft at RAF Kallang, Singapore. Cox was reported missing on operations on 18 January 1942 and is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial.

The museum also holds his medals.
